Purolite continues to lead the industry in offering a complete line of Purolite® ion exchange resins for perchlorate removal.
Perchlorate is a national issue in the United States of America. Trace levels (parts per billion) have been detected in potable water supplies in at least 22 states. Consumer health concerns continue to put pressure on State and Federal regulators for the immediate clean-up of contaminated drinking supplies.
Our Purolite A530E and A532E bifunctionalized resin, developed and trademarked by Oak Ridge National Laboratories as "BiQuatTM ", offers the highest selectivity for perchlorate of all known resins.
Analog testing shows these products can reduce perchlorate to less than 1 ppb at high specific flowrates, making the product ideally suited for both municipal and POU/POE applications. Purolite A532E, our latest development in perchlorate removal has the highest capacity in the industry. It is "super" selective for perchlorate and other hydrophobic oxy-anions
We offer a comprehensive range of perchlorate services to Technology Vendor's, OEM's, and Consultants, including capacity projections and costings.
A number of municipalities currently utilize Purolite Ion Exchange Resin technology for removal of perchlorate down to 4 ppb or less. The technology is simple to operate and can be mobilized, installed and operational with relatively short lead times.
Either disposable ("load and burn") or regenerable resins systems can be utilized, depending on the preferences of end users, the particular resin selected, and the chemistry of the specific water supply.
Purolite® Ion Exchange Technology is the preferred method of removal of perchlorate from drinking water supplies. The technology is well established (e.g. softening and nitrate removal), is relatively simple to operate and is cost effective. Purolite Ion Exchange is ideal for removal of trace (parts per billion) concentrations that are typically found in potable water. The information below will be particularly helpful to OEMs, technology vendors and advocates looking for the optimum selection.
